Welcome to Poland – about the project

In pursuit of the strategy of increasing internationalization at the AGH University of Krakow and in order to raise the standard of services provided to foreign academic staff we are proud to announce that a Welcome Point has been already created – a place of comprehensive services for the foreign part of the academic community.

We hope to make it easier for foreigners to live and work in Poland to enhance the image of AGH University as an open and friendly university for people from abroad.
Thus we will be able to increase the linguistic competence of the administrative staff, get familiar with the legalization of stay issues and introduce foreigners to Polish culture.

The project received funding from the Welcome to Poland Programme (NAWA), and its manager is M. Sc. Marta Foryś, the Director of the Centre for International Affairs.

Embarking on this project we hope to solve the key problems the foreign academic are facing, such as difficulties with administrative and formal issues, legalisation of stay in Poland, socio-cultural adaptation or language barriers of university staff.

The project was implemented between 01.05.2022 and 30.04.2023, and the funding received for this purpose from the NAWA programme amounts to nearly PLN 400.000.
