How to get a PESEL number?
PESEL is automatically assigned to you when you register at municipality/district office.
It is mandatory for all incoming visitors who are staying:
- for more than 3 months → for EU/EEA citizens
- for more than 30 days → for all other nationalities
PESEL number is useful to manage certain formalities such as opening a bank account, registering for a doctor or submitting your annual tax declaration.
